Can you adjust my file if it is not in final size?

Guide to understand how your file should come before printing

– Can you adjust my file if it is not in final size?

We can make very small adjustments, but we do not redesign or reformat files that are not in the correct final size.
Your file must come prepared exactly in the size you want to print to guarantee a professional result.

If you are not sure how to prepare your file, check:

– What adjustments CAN we make?

We only make minimum adjustments when they do not affect the design.

– Allowed adjustments (small changes)

  • Adjust margins if there is 1–2 mm leftover
  • Automatically increase bleed if it does not affect content
  • Slightly align if the file comes incorrectly centered
  • Correct a very similar size (example: 21 × 28 cm to 21.6 × 27.9 cm)

✔ These changes do not modify your design or move elements.

– What CAN'T we adjust?

– Changes that require redesign

We cannot adjust:

  • Files in a totally different size
  • Documents without necessary bleed
  • Files with elements stuck to the edge
  • Designs that require rearrangement of texts or images
  • Book covers where the spine does not correspond to the number of pages

– What happens if the file does not match the quoted size?

Your file must match EXACTLY the size chosen in the quoter:

If the file does not match:

  • Your order will be paused
  • We will notify you of the problem
  • Production time will not start until receiving the corrected file
  • You will have to resend the file in the correct size

– How do I prepare my file so it is in final size?

– If you use Word

Make sure to configure the size from:
Page Layout → Size → Final document size

– If you use Canva

  1. Configure the final size BEFORE starting to design
  2. Activate bleeds
  3. Export as PDF for printing

– If you use Illustrator, InDesign, or Photoshop

  • Create the document from scratch in the final size
  • Add 3 mm bleed on each side
  • Work in CMYK
  • Export as PDF/X-1a or PDF for printing

– What happens if I enlarge or reduce the file on my own?

– Risks of scaling designs

  • Sharpness is lost
  • Design is distorted
  • Proportions are altered
  • White edges may appear
  • Images remain in low resolution

Especially in books, covers, or catalogs:

– Why is it essential to work in final size?

Because it avoids:

  • Unexpected rearrangements
  • Poorly made cuts
  • Objects out of margin
  • Spine problems in books
  • Quality loss

Additionally, it ensures that your printing comes out exactly as you designed it.

– Conclusion

Yes, we can adjust your file only if the adjustment is minimal.
For your printing to come out perfect, your file must always come:

  • In the final size
  • With bleed
  • In CMYK
  • In high resolution
  • In recommended PDF
